She may now be facing animal cruelty charges.
Animal control officers and several deputies used four trucks to take 55 of the 82 dogs to a shelter to be evaluated by vets.
Then the next day they came back for the remaining 27 dogs.
Neighbors had originally alerted authorities because with all the dogs, and all the doggy doo doo, they feared the waste might seep into their water supply.
Gross.
The woman said she takes care of her dogs and feeds them daily.
Sounds like a hoarder to us.
We'll just have to wait until the police report comes out to find out if any charges are being filed.
CHESTERTON, Ind. (AP) — Northwestern Indiana police say a woman could face animal cruelty charges after authorities removed 82 dogs from her rural home over a two-day period.

The Times of Munster reports animal control officers and Porter County deputies removed 27 dogs Thursday from the home for veterinary evaluations. The day before they removed 55 dogs, using four trucks that made multiple trips to the Chesterton-area home.

Sheriff's department spokesman Sgt. Larry LaFlower says authorities obtained a search warrant Tuesday for the home after neighbors said they feared the dogs' waste around the home was getting into their drinking water.

LaFlower says homeowner Donna Montoya could face animal cruelty charges once animal control officers complete their report.

Montoya says she takes care of her dogs and feeds them every day.

The Times of Munster reports that animal control officers and Porter County deputies used four trucks to take 55 canines from the Chesterton-area home on Wednesday then returned Thursday to rescue 27 more. The dogs are being evaluated by veterinarians.
